     Graydon Hilyard’s exuberant biography of reel maker Stan Bogdan is charmingly intimate. For decades, Bogdan’s superb reels- which are expensive- have been cherished by their owners who often had to wait years before their creator could assemble them in his little shop.
     This lavishly-illustrated account reveals how such people came to crave and purchase Bogdan reels, and how, after meeting the maker of those reels who is also a superb fly fisherman and helpful and gentlemanly streamside companion, they began to invite him to fish their own holdings.
